Be sure to buy a couple of heavy duty extension cords as regular ones are not safe to use with either a portable or a permanent generator. Add gasoline stabilizer to the fuel periodically to keep your generator from deteriorating. Also, it's important to do a test run every now and then to make sure that your generator is working well.
